Release Date: 17 Feb 2012

Plot: Ek Deewana Tha is a 2012 Bollywood fim directed by Gautham Menon featuring Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson.  Sachin (Prateik Babbar) is a mechanical engineering student in Mumbai who’s actual dream is to become a filmmaker. Sachin pursues this area and becomes an assistant director to the famous Ramesh Sippy.  Sachin’s family (Hindu Brahmins) rent out the bottom level of Jessie (Amy Jackon’s) house and this is how Sachin meets Jesse(a conservative Christian). Sachin falls in love the moment he meets Jessie. He can’t communicate with Jessie because Jessie is afraid to speak with men especially infront of her strict father.  After a while Jessie and Sachin are able to share their feelings with one another. But her father only wants a suitable Christian for his daughter. At one point Jessie calls Sachin and wants to elope but Sachin was away on location at a film shooting and it wasn’t the right time. The wait was too long for her and Jessie disliked the disapproval from her parents. So Jessie agreed to marry a suitor of her parents choice.  A previously rejected suitor came to visit Jessie again but this time she didn’t refuse. Sachin later learns that Jessie is married and settled abroad.

Several years later, the heart-broken Sachin writes a script for his first film, his own love story. He titles it Jessie. While working on this production in Taj Mahal, Jessie comes goes to meet him. She confesses she did not marry and she still loves him. She proposes again and they exchange vows the same day.  This is revealed in the ending of Jessie the movie as Jesse and Sachin are watching in real life in the theater.
